In Good Conscience: Respecting the Beliefs of Health-Care Providers and the Needs of Patients [PDF]
This pamphlet has been written to give a brief overview of some of the key themes in the debate on refusal/conscience clauses: how conscience clauses evolved; Catholic teachings on conscience; and how the concept of conscience has been manipulated, especially within the context of reproductive health and rights. We hope that it will be useful for those who have an interest in health care ethics, those who may be negotiating conscience clauses in their own institutions and states as well as for those who may be considering their own positions on conscience clauses.

Catholic Voters' Views on Healthcare Reform and Reproductive Health Care Services [PDF]
According to a new poll of Catholic voters carried out by Belden Russonello and Stewart for Catholics for Choice, Catholics support healthcare reform and support a plan that would include funding for abortion. The vast majority of those polled, 84 percent, attend church regularly, from several times a week to a few times a year. The results show that the views of Catholics have been seriously misrepresented by the US bishops and by conservative Catholics in the debate over healthcare reform.

Catholics for Choice Brochure [PDF]
Catholics for Choice’s mission is to shape and advance sexual and reproductive ethics that are based on justice, reflect a commitment to women’s well-being and respect and affirm the capacity of women and men to make moral decisions about their lives. CFC works in the United States and internationally to ensure that all people have access to safe and affordable reproductive health-care services and to infuse our core values into public policy, community life and Catholic social thinking and teaching.
Catholics for Choice is at the forefront of national and international debates on the intersection of faith, women’s health and reproductive justice. CFC is committed not only to policy change, but also to a change in the culture in which policy decisions are made, a change in people’s hearts and minds about the ways they think about sexuality and reproduction.

The latest investigative report from Catholics for Choice shows how Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, while presenting itself as just another group working for the "common good," is in fact an antiabortion organization that publicly supports the restriction of abortion laws.

Secular and Security-Minded: The Catholic Vote in Summer 2008 [PDF]
More than 1000 Catholics who are likely voters in the 2008 presidential election, including an oversample of Latino Catholics, answered questions regarding the war in Iraq, national security, gay marriage, stem cell research, abortion, education, Medicaid and Social Security and the Catholic bishops' denial of communion and involvement in politics. This is the third pre-presidential survey of Catholic voters that Catholics for Choice has conducted. The surveys conducted in October 2000 and June 2004 reflected Catholic voter preferences for President on election day.

Religion & Politics in the New Europe [PDF]
Catholics for Choice organized the Religion & Politics in the New Europe forum on November 27, 2007 which brought together more than 100 members of the European Parliament, experts, advocates and public policy professionals. Bringing together those on both sides of the debate, many for the first time, the forum was part of a continuing and wide-ranging dialogue about the relationship between our government institutions and organized religious influences. This report helps create a better understanding of what should be the appropriate role for religion in contemporary politics.

The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights: Neither Religious nor Civil [PDF]
The latest report in the Opposition Notes series examines the work of the Catholic League and its president, Bill Donohue, who has waged a long and lonely campaign to bully into silence anybody he deems to have insulted the Catholic church. According to an annual report put out by the League, the number of examples of anti-Catholicism grew from 140 in 1995 to 320 in 2006, yet the only thing that seems to have actually increased is the League's definition of what constitutes anti-Catholic activity.

Catholic Attitudes on Condoms in the Prevention of HIV and AIDS [PDF]
As public health campaigns focus on condom use as a key to preventing HIV/ AIDS transmission, the Vatican maintains steadfast opposition to the use of condoms for any reason. In anticipation of World AIDS Day, Catholics for Choice asked Belden Russonello & Stewart to conduct an international poll of Catholics to determine their attitudes toward condoms and AIDS. BRS surveyed Catholics over 18 in Ghana, Ireland, Mexico, the Philippines, and the United States; the results of the poll are reported here.
